about

Joe Ross (Pennsylvania, USA, currently residing in Paris, France) recited an excerpt of his poem called "Where Was The Flag B-E-F-O-R-E?" which I completed with a sound track. My challenge was to create a musical score that would enhance his pulsating poetry without becoming a tepid background filler. I reworked his voice with delicate digital effects to echo the complexity of his positioning within language and concepts. "The Flag" is an extremely profound poetic masterpiece that questions who, why, what and where we are. There is no certainty other than uncertainty which is exactly what keeps us alert and aware.
